Expectations

Whether this is your first season or your last, the mission of Live Oak Little League is to instill the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect for authority, so that participants will be well-adjusted, stronger, and happier children. All coaches shall bear in mind that attaining exceptional athletic skills or winning games is secondary, and the molding of future citizens is of prime importance.

In-Game Code of Conduct
By Little League rule managers, coaches AND players cannot interact with the spectators during games. Live Oak Little League has a strict Code of Conduct for all volunteers, players, and parents. The Board of Directors will review all infractions of the Code of Conduct. Depending on the seriousness or frequency, the board may assess additional disciplinary action up to and including expulsion from the league.

No Dogs on School Property
Live Oak School District prohibits animals from being brought on-site at school facilities. Live Oak Little League rents the athletic facilities from the School District and must, therefore, follow the District's rules. Please refrain from bringing your dogs to games or practices. We realize that dogs are considered family members but respectfully request that all families adhere to the rules and regulations of LOSD.

Volunteer Form
Managers, coaches, team parents, or anyone who participates on the field with the players must fill a volunteer form out every year. If you have registered as a volunteer through your account you do not need to fill out a volunteer form, we already have your information. The safety officer reviews the forms and performs a background check to ensure that no person is permitted on the field that has been convicted of a crime against a child. At the end of the season, these electronic forms are purged from the system. No coach or manager will be allowed on the fields until this is completed. A copy of your driver’s license must also be submitted.

Uniform

You will work with the player agent to confirm your team name and the equipment manager will provide you with your player's team shirt or jersey (depending on division) and a baseball hat.

Each player will need non-metal cleats and their own glove. A player having their own batting helmet is typically optional, but it is recommended as they progress to higher levels of play.Once you inform your team about their colors, they will also need to purchase:

  • Baseball pants
  • Team-colored belt
  • Team-colored socks

Please reach out to the president or player agent if you have players that need support purchasing equipment.
